The Apple iPad

In your opinion how important is it for mobile applications and devices to both look good and function properly? Comment on both the attractiveness of the software and the hardware.

i think it is very important for it to function properly and for everything to work properly, after buying the product and it not working or functioning properly i wouldnt be very happy, and i probably wouldn't buy anything from that seller again. in my opinion i think it is very important that if i pay a lot of money for something then i expect it to work.
the apple ipad is attractive, it looks good and eye catching, the apple brand has a very good name behind it, a lot of people trust it. and from what i have heard from the ipad i would buy one,

Who designed the iPad? Was it an individual or team? In your opinion, do people use this device because it looks good or because it functions well? Or does it do both?

Johnathan "jony" ive designed the ipad, foxconn manufactured it and apple was the developer. i think they use it because everyone else uses it and they all say that it is good. i think that some people use it cause it looks good and i think neally everyone uses it because it functions properly and because its got a good name.

How has the iPad changed the way some businesses function? Can you find examples of where businesses have implemented the iPad into their day-to-day activities?

sales people in america that are out on field working use ipads to pitch to there boss there ideas or for any information that they need to get to them and to show a slide for the people they are trying to sell stuff to, people form law firms are using ipads on overnight trips because they are lighter and easier then carrying a laptop and

Overall, what other major flaws of this type of technology? Can you think of anyways in the future that this hardware will be improved to the point where it will compete with desktop and laptop computers?

i had a look on some forums and a lot of people are saying that the back light bleeds and some people loose pixels and dirt under there screen,i think that all these flaws will be improved and i think that yes one day the iPad will be better then the laptop and computer.

How do you think the iPad could help your day-to-day workflow? Are the answers straightforward? Is it more a case of combining this technology with others that already exist?

i think that in some aspects of work that the iPad can help but some it cant, like as i said before that you could show a slide of what your selling, but some things with in your job there is no need to use a computer or iPad.

Consider the following–has the iPad shaped the way we do business? Or has business and technology shaped the way Apple developed the iPad?

i think both, i think that some people have changed the way they work for the iPad but then some of them just add it to there work/job and make it work with no changes. example, people who travel for work. like sales reps. some have changed they way they work and travel because of the iPad. they make the traveling easier because the iPad is little compact and easy to use,

Is the iPad and tablets in general a passing fad? Or do you think this type of technology is here to stay long-term?

i think that once they get the iPad and all its flaws fully complete and actually have no flaws there, that it will stay, i think they are a good idea but at this time i would not buy a tablet or iPad only for the fact that they are new and they are expensive and with the way apple are at the moment they are updating there technology every 6 months and i dont want to waste $500 on an iPad that is going to get upgraded within months.

Conduct a discussion with the whole class and determine based on the general consensus the pros and cons of tablet-based technology.

Many people say that the iPad is an unnecessary piece of hardware caught in limbo between a laptop and mobile phone. Do you think this consensus is accurate. Do you think that your answer could be different in five years time?

i think that it is a good thing. but then i think that maybe its just a waste of time, especially for people who are only getting them cause everyone else is. and my opinion will definitely change in 5 years time.

masking

we had to mask out the impala that is in the foreground of the photo and put the back ground into the photo and make it look like it was meant to be there, this is my outcome.

content aware.

we had to use several different tools to get these photos look like this. the new tool we learnt today was the content aware tool. these are my finished images.

Is the defence a career for you?

Critique of the Army recruit site.

STARTING YOUR ARMY CAREER

It's a big decision to join the Army and probably one that requires a fair bit of thought. It's a demanding career and the hours aren't always nine to five but the rewards you get out of it are unlike any other job.

A career in the Army is both a job decision and a lifestyle choice. When you arrive at Kapooka and encounter the Army life for the first time it can be a bit daunting and sometimes come as a shock. This is because at ARTC we must fit a lot into the training program and the training is intense so that we can be assured that Australia has the best soldiers that we can produce. We are also preparing you for further training and eventually service in the Australian Army as a highly professional and well trained soldier.

You may find the first few weeks of training to be particularly challenging so its important that you are physically and mentally prepared. Visit the preparation page for more information or watch some videos of recruits in training to see what it is really like.

Does the copy get to the point quickly?
I think it does but not in a way that you would want to join the army after reading this article, I think that if your going to join the army you would want to read something that a little bit more positive, I find this article very negative.
Is the copy shy about the offer or incentive?
No it explains what it is like to be in the army and how it feels, how demanding it is.
Is it easy to respond to?
Yes, but not in a good way, i personally respond to this article as being negative and not exciting or fun,  like it’s a terrible, hell job,
Does the copy overcome every objection to replying, leaving the reader with no choice but to act?
No not really. It directs to other things like another website, to watch videos and to read more, it makes it boring and not fun to be able to read about the defence,
Does the copy use simple words?
Yes. It is very understandable, easy to read and makes sense.
Does the copy use active language (does it address the site visitor as ‘you’)?
Yes, in some parts of the article it does but other parts it doesn’t.
Is the copy broken down into simple sections and bullet points?
Yes. There is no bullet points but it gets straight to the point , that it is gruelling and hard but in the end its rewarding,
